Promoting Love of the Divine Word in Scripture

Jerome Institute promotes knowledge and understanding of the Christian Scriptures and provides training in ecclesiastical languages, biblical research and interpretation.

We are committed to advancing the field of biblical studies and entering a new orchard of exegetical research. On this website you will find information about our graduate-level offerings, ongoing research projects, language study, and Jerome Prep, preparatory courses for school-aged students.

Learn more about our online graduate-level offerings and biblical studies program where, in the words of our patron, St. Jerome, "All that we read in the divine books, while glistening and shining without, is yet far sweeter within."

While teaching and making use of all the tools at our disposal for interpreting Scriptures, we seek to lead students into a new orchard of biblical scholarship in which historical analysis and theology attain their innate harmony.

Reading a text in its original language provides direct access to that work, which is a profound experience for the reader. With the intermediary removed by the slow process of language learning, one finds himself no longer looking dimly into a glass but, often, face-to-face with the author of the text.

There is no better literary or should we say spiritual pursuit than discovering and being discovered by a text from Holy Scripture, whose author is the Holy Spirit.

Jerome Prep offers courses, both online and on-campus, for the homeschooled, privately, or publicly educated school-aged students.

We emphasize the importance of integrated education, geared toward personal growth and formation, with the acknowledgement that Sacred Scripture offers us the guide for true human formation and joy.

We are located on Mt. Kearsarge at the St. Mary Magdalen Center in Warner, New Hampshire.
